Who can apply?

UK nationals and their family members who held EU residency before 31st December 2020.

UK nationals who were residing in Spain before 31st December 2020.

Spouse and children of UK national whose relationship was established before 31st December 2020, provided that the relationship has been maintained until the time of application.

Key details & deadline

  • If you already have a EU residency certificate, you would need to exchange it for the TIE (Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero).
  • New applicants must provide proof of legal residence before 31st December 2020, such as census registration certificates (padrón) work contracts, rental agreements, or school enrolment.
  • Residency applications are handled through Immigration Offices.
